The Center for Women and Families opened in downtown Louisville in 1912 and has since stretched across the river and throughout the city. Its mission is to help victims of intimate partner abuse or sexual violence through supportive services that foster hope, promote self-sufficiency and rebuild lives.

Nothing is quite as limitless as the imagination of a child, which, for the most part, brings about great entertainment for both you and your children. Thanks to Try It Local and the Alley Theater for Young Audiences, you can buy up to six tickets at $6 a piece (normally $12) for a performance of "Furry Tails with a Twist" and nurture those imaginations a little further. Performances are August 14 & 21 at 1 P.M. and recommended for children ages 5 to 11.

Written by Jennifer Hickok DeFratis, "Furry Tails with a Twist" tells the adventures of two bumbling actors trying to present a few of the world's most beloved fairy tales, but instead end up with scrambled scripts for GoldiSOCKS and the Three WOLVES, the Three Billy TROLLS Gruff and The Three Little BEARS. Full of entertaining humor and charm, the show also creatively teaches story structure, writing vocabulary and theatrical staging.

"Furry Tails with a Twist" is The Alley Theater's premiere production for children and youth. The mission of the Alley Theater for Young Audiences is to provide a safe and age appropriate environment to foster and encourage expression, creativity and education. Care is taken to select plays and events that enlighten, educate and entertain.

The Alley Theater has been producing quality theater since October 2009 at its beautiful new location at the Pointe in historic Butchertown.  The Alley Theater, in partnership with Art Sanctuary, have announced their first full season of shows, beginning this August.  More information can be found at www.thealleytheater.org
